Fakhreddine (Fakhri) Fakhfakh’s journey to earning his CFA charter is driven by a passion for making a real impact on the economy. As a Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) analyst in North Africa, he values how his work affects society, not just wealth.

What is your motivation for earning your CFA charter?

I aspire to be a leading player in this field because I like the fact that I’m participating in moving capital and even the economy in general.

Could you describe your career?

I've lately got a job as an M&A analyst in a small boutique firm in North Africa. It may not be on the scale of American business or American money, but it's something.

Why is this profession important to you?

People like to think about this field as just a direct way for money and wealth. Well, they are not wrong, especially in North America. However, I like the field because of the real-life impact it has on the well-being of whole societies.

What obstacles have you faced in your CFA journey?

I come from a modest background. But thanks to you guys, I'm seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

You just took the CFA exam and passed. Congratulations!

I'm a 2024 May candidate... I got the results in July and I've made it above the 90th percentile thanks to you. In fact, Salt Solutions was instrumental in my achievement. [Salt Solutions instructors] Chin Yew and Marc may remember me because I used to ask a lot of questions.

Why did you decide Salt Solutions was your best choice for CFA prep?

I had the chance to have the Level I prep free from Salt Solutions (Editor's note: This promotion ended in February 2024). Your content is top notch. The responsiveness of the professors and their patience with candidates' questions is to be applauded!

What are your thoughts on the study materials (e.g., video lessons and manuals)?

The manuals are very effective. They summarize the courses well without omitting information. I almost relied entirely on your manuals instead of the CFA Institute content and passed the exam with ease. The manuals made me save time to do more questions.

I tried watching lectures by other prep providers that have different styles: a visible prof explaining, or a professor writing digitally, etc. While they are good in their own way, I think Salt Solutions nailed it in terms of efficiency. Your lectures simply take less time and less energy to understand.

The lecture style suits me well: dynamic text/slides with voice-over is the best combo. I understand the content better this way.

Can you share how support from our instructors made a difference?

The professors are helpful and always answer in a timely fashion. Plus, they are patient as they always answer follow-up questions. I wouldn't have made it without you. I've already enrolled for Level II in November and I'm already enjoying the learning journey. In short, you have changed my life.

How did you benefit from Salt Solutions customer service?

The customer service is way too good. I've never experienced better customer service in all sectors. The platform is always open to feedback and they listen to their students carefully. My experience was very "human" and natural with Salt. They simply care about their students' well-being, knowledge and opinions.

What is your top tip for your fellow CFA candidates?

Even when you have passed Level I, the journey continues. In fact, it has just started. Keep on rocking, Salt Solutions team!
